La incombustible Rihanna nos trae un nuevo single, titulado Diamonds, que se ha estrenado esta semana en radios de todo el mundo. Formará parte del 7º disco de estudio de la de Barbados, un corte de estilo sentimental y eufórico con arreglos electrónicos en el que la artista parece aludir de forma velada al mundo de las drogas.
Amante en los últimos tiempos de las situaciones más controvertidas, en la portada del single salen sus manos liando polvo de diamantes en papel de fumar y, además. En la letra algunos han creído ver referencias al éxtasis. Sin embargo, Rihanna ha dicho en su twitter que el tema es un homenaje a su abuela, fallecida hace poco.
La canción ha sido compuesta por Sia y producida por Benny Blanco (responsable del Circus de Britney Spears) y el equipo noruego Stargate, conocidos por su extensa colaboración con Rihanna en números 1 como Don’t Stop The Music, What’s My Name? y Only Girl (In the World).
El nuevo álbum en el que se incluirá Diamonds carece aún de fecha de lanzamiento y de título oficial, aunque su equipo ha abierto una página web ante este lanzamiento, rihanna7.com, que hace referencia al número que ocupa este nuevo trabajo de estudio en su fulgurante discografía (siete discos en siete años).
Su nueva gira empezará recorriendo ciudades de EEUU y Canadá bajo el nombre, Diamonds World Tour, como la canción que ha presentado.
